Outstanding Schools & Outstanding Results in Merton

Councillor Sally Kenny at St Marks school on GCSE results day.

Students across Merton schools received their GCSE and vocational results this week, and once again, students across Merton achieved brilliant results. Councillor Sally Kenny, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, visited St Marks on results day as students collected their results.

Thanks to the hard work of teachers and school leaders early figures show that, despite a national decline in outcomes in GCSE English and Maths at level 4+, Merton is bucking the national trend and showing strong improvements, particularly at the higher levels.

These excellent results build further on the excellent reputation of Merton schools, in which almost all are rated as either ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted.
