PETITION:
SAVE WIMBLEDON POLICE STATION!
Between 2010 and 2024, the Conservatives inflicted significant cuts on police stations and services across the country. As a result, Wimbledon Police Station has been under threat of closure for many years, and its future is still not certain.
While Wimbledon continues to be one of the safest areas in London, shutting the station would undermine the neighbourhood policing model. Officers would be forced to spend more time traveling to their assigned areas, leaving less time to focus on preventing and addressing crime.
With the new government’s commitment to neighbourhood policing, we’re calling on Sir Mark Rowley, the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, to guarantee the future of Wimbledon Police Station in the upcoming Estates Strategy.
